Hello PRS followers!
I’ve decided to sell a started pup I have here.
Meet Copper! She’s will be 5 months old on September 19th. She has her basic commands in place, crate trained, well socialized, just about fully collar conditioned for both recall & whoa, has seen 140+ pigeons, 50+ .22 caliber blank fires, retrieved bumpers with grouse wings, frozen pigeons and fresh kill pigeons. Should be hunt ready within a week or two.
She is out of one of my very best ever in Ina’amii when bred to Duca. Both parents are on the sires and dams pages. Check them out if not familiar! Serious inquiries only please. Submit pup app from purchase forms page via email to paintriverllewellins@gmail.com
I can provide ample videos of her recent bird work and obedience. Here’s a couple photos below—
Kyle has a conversation with Andrea Cavaglia from northern Italy. Andrea’s father is the breeder of Duca and we talk about growing up in Italy, setters, work and Kyle’s trip to Italy to see the dogs work black grouse in the Alps.

Sat down with Nick Larson of the Bird Shot Podcast for two lengthy episodes discussing a ton of stuff: tracking dogs, true dogs, scent theory and behavior, hunting late season in the snow, approaching the dog on point and developing puppies. Click on the links below and take a listen! For other podcasts with Kyle as a guest visit the PRL website homepage where you can find other episodes to listen to.
Late summer every year prior to the hunting season PRL hosts a couple grouse dog clinics. These workshops teach dog owners how to be the best dog handler and hunter with their grouse dog in the Northwoods.
We cover all the necessary skills for both dog and human: navigation, reading your dog, scent theory and behavior, grouse habitat and behavior, hunt strategy, essential obedience and troubleshooting all specific problems that you and your dog have as a hunting team.
Space is limited as we like to keep participation small enough so all people attending are observing all the other dog teams at the clinic.
It’s an intense three day event that will put you and your dog in the best position possible to succeed this fall! Making every hunt a successful hunt with or without any birds in the back!
Email us today for more information. All breeds and all ages from five months old and up are welcome to attend.
